PM Narendra Modi Inaugurates Hyderabad Metro in November 2017

Hyderabad Metro rail to be opened in phases and Chief Minister of Telangana K. Chandrasekhar Rao has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to initiate the first phase of the Hyderabad Metro Rail in November 2017.

As PM Narendra Modi is the chief guest of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit to be held in Hyderabad from November 28 to 30. The Telangana CM requested the PM to inaugurate the Phase I of Metro Rail during his visit to Hyderabad.

The Chief Minister, in his letter, expressed that the Hyderabad Metro Rail Project would have been an esteemed and greatest open transport framework venture in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad Metro RailThe Hyderabad Metro Rail Project has been taken up on three corridors covering a distance of 72 km. In the first phase, the section between Miyapur and Ameerpet, a distance of 13 km, and another 17-km stretch between Ameerpet and Nagole have been completed.

From Sources: The officials planned to inaugurate the Hyderabad Metro Railway’s (HMR) first phase on Ugadi in 2017 itself. But it got postponed. But, the inauguration was postponed several times. Actually, the bhumi puja for HMR was conducted in April 2012 and started the pillar construction works on the same day.
